my name is Ryan Chittick. Upon hitting my late-twenties crisis of ”what am I doing with my life?” I offed my silicon valley job of toiling away in a cave churning out corporate training content and set off on a 2174 mile hike of the Appalachian Trail, running from Georgia to Maine. This blog is dedicated to chronicling some of the larger highlights of he adventure, as well as offering insight to non-hikers into the weird quirks and customs of the A.T. Thru-hiker community. I am hoping to spare my audience of the standard boring journal entries such as ”climbed mountain X today. Met up with hikers Y and Z. Saw a deer.” If there’s anything you’re curious about relating to the trail or my adventures, just ask! I enjoy it when people participate.
